History
Prehistory
For much of prehistory, the area around modern day Voylvurlch was covered under a thick ice sheet, and the Ioxian, Laptian, and the Meloryan Seas were merely a series of rivers. As a result, it is believed that populations around Voylvurlch were small, and evidence of activity is scarce, though well preserved. Following the melting of the ice sheet and the warming of Abzu, the Ioxian, Laptian, and the Meloryan Seas would come to be through the flooding of the former Sharratian plane. The first culture found in the area around Voylvurlch was the Meloryanic Pottery Culture, which spread roughly from modern day Voylvurlch to modern day Riyana. X
Early history
Early Ciánic records have noted the Voylvurlic peoples living north of the Riyans as far back as the 250s CE, but the first Voylvurlic city states and written records did not begin to appear until around the 400s CE. Much like the city-states around the Ioxian and Laptian Seas, many early mercantile Voylvurlic city-states would rise and flourish around the coastal regions of the Meloryan Sea.
