Kyu

Kyu (Kwang: kwaiKyu), officially the Great Kyu (Kwang: Hòun Kyu), is a country in Sharrat. It is bordered by Sensuîerreí, located on the Strait of Sambris. It is Sharrat's only Kwang-speaking country, having been settled by Kwang traders since the 16th century.

Then an overseas Qonklese colony, Kyu gained independence in 1901 during the chaos of the Qonklese Warlord Era, with members of the Qonklese Nã royal family establishing the Lya Dynasty (known in traditional Qonklese sources as the Eastern Lya) soon after fleeing Qonklaks. Kyu was a member of the Mandate powers during the Great War, supplying manpower and arms to imperial Qonklaks. After the War, Kyu experienced strong economic decline due to no longer having economic support from Qonklaks, but were given economic aid by the Archdessodom of Ishkur as part of their cenonism-containment strategy.

Today, Kyu remains the last Kwang-speaking monarchy on Abzû, preserving many forms of the old governmental structures of the Celestial Empire.
